Canon S90 does a fine job

I bought a cool pocketable Canon S90 last month hoping at last to have found a mini camera that I could slip into a shirt/jeans pocket, whip it out and take a technically decent photo. Put in in my pocket this afternoon and as I walked back from the Barbican across the Hoe, I whipped it out and fired off three exposures, gave 'em the HDR treatment and I'm pleased to say it does perform technically very well.

Not so Grand

I was commissioned this week to photograph the sorry state of Plymouth's Union Street to accompany a rant on the decay of some parts of Plymouth in a local business magazine. Can you imagine how grand this was in 1847?

A Dying Art

The Chouarra Tannery in Fez's Medina. Probably won't be there in a few years. City want to close it down in order to clean up the Fez River which it pollutes. But what about the economic impact of closure on the Medina workers etc. to say nothing about the historical loss of what is probable the world's oldest and largest tannery?
